Lemuel L. Sarver, Sr., 93, departed his earthly home on the banks of his beloved Craigs Creek as family members surrounded his bed singing Victory in Jesus.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, June Keffer Sarver; his children: J.R. (Janet) Sarver and Ned (Susan) Sarver of Catawba, and Meddie (Gene) Delp of Salem; grandchildren: Pastor Lee (Cindy) Sarver, Christy (Kenny) Smith, and Sheldon (April) Sarver of Catawba, and Matt (Kim) Sarver of Roanoke; ten great-grandchildren; stepdaughters: Betty K. (Bob) Munsey of Bland and Nancy Keffer of Salem; step grandchildren: Kim (Dave) Snead of Texas, Kevin (Tina) Keffer of Roanoke, Kendall (Renae) Keffer of Salem, Mike (Jen) Munsey of Alexandria, and Debbie (Arnie) Wimmer of Bland; and seven step great-grandchildren.
A veteran of World War II, a carpenter by trade, and an avid fisherman, he delighted in helping others. A true Christian gentleman, he was a member of the New Hope Union Church from birth.
His family is most thankful for the assistance provided by Gentle Shepherd Hospice and his dedicated caregivers: Cindy and Sam Duncan and Della Meadows.
