Laura Jane Pitsenbarger

Laura Jane Bowes Pitsenbarger, age 84, of Salem, VA, formerly of White Sulpher Springs, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2020. She was born on Saturday, June 27, 1936, to the late Blanchard T. Bowes and Mary Dotson Bowes in White Sulpher Springs, WV. Jane was a Correctional Officer for the West Virginia Department of Corrections. She proudly served as a Correctional Officer at Alderson Federal Prison for Women in Alderson, WV. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Arthur Pitsenbarger, Jr.; former husband, Arthur Welch Pitsenbarger; as well as numerous brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Mary Ann Burgess, and Betty Massie, and her husband, Tracy. Grandchildren, Lonnie Brandon Burgess, Joshia DeWane Burgess, Tracy Jordan Massie, Justin Todd Massie, Jayden Todd Massie. Numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Fowler and Shirley Sizemore; brothers, Robert Bowes and John Bowes. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. No services are planned at this time.
