Kimberly Mcgraw Blankenship Dickerson

Kimberly McGraw Blankenship Dickerson, 46, of Salem, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, and friend. Her faith was important to her, and apparent to those around her. She always loved being involved in church activities, and was a member at Bonsack Baptist Church. Among her many talents, she was a beautifully gifted singer and natural performer and leader, and shared these gifts willingly every chance she got. She was a full-time mom and PTA President before graduating from Radford University and entering the classroom as a highly regarded teacher and administrator for Roanoke City Schools. She was preceded in death by her doting father, George Donald McGraw. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry L. Dickerson; her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kaitlyn Blankenship; her daughter, Lindsey Page Blankenship; her mother, Peggy McGraw Wright; her second father, Dallas J. Wright; her sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Glenn Vass; her niece, Katie Jane Vass; her sister, Robin Harrell; her niece and nephew, Emily and Ethan Harrell; a special life-long friend, Sarah Reaser OBrien; and many more loving extended family members. We will remember and celebrate her life with a visitation on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10 a.m., also in the chapel. The Rev. Danny Quirin will be officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her father at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
