Kenneth Eugene Waldron

Kenneth Eugene Waldron (Kenny), 76, of Salem passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Kenny was born February 2, 1940 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Eugene and Christine Waldron. Kenneth was proud to have been a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960. He was a supervisor for Roanoke Fashions-Tultex for over 30 years. Kenneth was a devoted member of Elliston Church of God. He will be remembered for his incredible kindness to others and his silly sense of humor. He is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Jean Ann Waldron; daughters, Melissa Waldron-Smith and Robert E. Smith of Baltimore, MD and Theresa Doss and Steven Goff of Crystal River, FL; son, Thomas Dwayne Waldron and Melissa Waldron of Collinsville, VA; granddaughters, Romney Clair Smith of Boulder, CO, Dulcie Smith of Baltimore, MD, Kayla Doss of Rocky Mount, VA and Haley Doss of Crystal River, FL; special friend, Adam Skeens Jr.; and siblings, Patricia Percell of Jonesboro, TN, Reginald Waldron of Wirtz, VA and Gary Waldron of Roanoke, VA. A period of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Elliston Church of God, 9335 Roanoke Road, Elliston, VA, 24087, with an interment following at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, VA.
