Kenneth E. "Kenney" Trail, Sr., 73 of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Kenney was born on February 21, 1952, to the late Herman Arthur and Peggy Ann Williams Trail. He was an avid outdoorsman and felt most at peace in the woods. He enjoyed many trips out west with his son, Ken, and friends. Sharing his passion for the outdoors with his grandchildren was the joy of his life. Later in life, Kenney and Carolyn racked up many miles on their motorcycles and trail bikes, treasuring their time and making memories together.
Above all, Kenney was a devoted follower of Jesus. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 27, living a life of service and study of the Lord's Word. As a member of Fellowship Community Church, he led a men's bible study group that brought him immense joy.
Kenney's first and greatest love was his family. He was married to the love of his life, Carolyn, for 53 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Ken Trail, Jr., who is married to Kara, and Kellie Trail Wells, who is married to Jeremy Wells. They were also blessed with four cherished grandchildren, Jay Trail, and his wife, Maddie Trail, Hunter Trail, Caitlin Wells, and Eli Wells.
In addition to his parents, Kenney was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Arthur Trail, Jr., and the Rev. Les Trail.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. at Fellowship Community Church, 1226 Red Lane Ext, Salem. A celebration of Kenney's life will begin immediately following, starting at 3:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
The family would like to thank the staff of Joseph C. Thomas Center for their care of Kenney for the last 18 months. A special thank you to the precious staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for the love and care given to Kenney and his family when it was most needed.
