Kenneth Junior Powell

Kenneth J. Powell went to be with our Lord and savior on February 28, 2013. Kenneth was born in Charlottesville, VA on February 23, 1943. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Virginia Powell, baby sister Betty Ann Powell, baby niece Courtney Powell and beloved granddaughter Madison Powell. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Christine Powell; sons and daughter-in-laws Glenn and Lorie Powell and Rob and Desiree Almond; one very special granddaughter Elizabeth Almond; brothers, Jimmy Powell, William Powell, Pete Powell and Russell Powell, and a sister, Lucy Powell. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home, located in Salem. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Kingery officiating. Interment will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Salem.
