Kenneth O. Clingenpeel, 76, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was a bus driver for City of Salem Public Schools for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed small engine repair work. He also loved his cats very much. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Vedie Clingenpeel; and a brother, Junior Clingenpeel. His surviving family includes his sons, Greg Clingenpeel and Todd Clingenpeel and wife, Kim; brother, Danny Clingenpeel and wife, Mary; sister, Trudie Likens and husband, Warren; grandchildren, Julie, Bobby, Joey, and Laura Clingenpeel; special family member, Lori Law and husband, Billy, as well as their children, Levi and Laci; and special friend, Kate Flora. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A funeral service will then begin at 7 p.m. Interment will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pastor Bill Hinton will officiate.
