Kelly Tufte "Kel" Carter

Kelly Tufte Carter passed into the light on Sunday, April 25, 2021, in Salem, Va. Kel was the adoring mother of her daughter, Mille Jean-Loal, and stepson, Wyatt, and loving wife to husband, Jeremy. Our Kel loved her family dearly, championed the disadvantaged, and brightened everyones day with her brilliant smile. Kel loved animals, especially her dogs Griffey and Lily. Kel was born on September 20, 1981, to Jon and Cathy Tufte in Fargo, N.D. She graduated from Fargo South High School in 2000. She graduated from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management in 2004 with a degree in Marketing. Kel demonstrated keen business acumen in a variety of professional pursuits and excelled in marketing for small businesses and non-profit organizations. In addition to Fargo and Minneapolis, Kel lived in Chicago, Ill. and Estes Park, Colo., where Kel originally met Jeremy in 2007 on a guided fishing trip. Kel and Jeremy reconnected in 2018, married in 2019, and welcomed Millie into this world. Millie was the apple of Kels eye. We rest easier knowing that Kel will always watch over Millie from above. In addition to her husband, Jeremy, daughter, Millie, and stepson, Wyatt, Kel is survived by parents, Jon and Cathy Tufte; brother, Jay (Sarah) Tufte; a niece and nephew, Phoebe and Henry Tufte; and grandfather, Arvid Thompson. Family and friends celebrated Kels life and our love for her at a graveside service on May 3, 2021, in Salem, Va. We will miss Kel so dearly. Rest in Gods peace, Kel.
