Kathy Ellis Davis

Kathy Ellis Davis, 70, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. She was retired from Lewis-Gale Clinic after 23 years, and enjoyed her time volunteering with the Roanoke Area Intergroup phone service and Bethany House. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, reading, and animals. Kathy was a faithfully devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be lovingly missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents, Powell and Ruby Ellis; and sister, Powellette (Betsy) Philips. Her surviving family includes her son, David B. Davis and wife, Ola; daughter, Amy Crowder and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Carson Joel Crowder, Amelia Irena Davis, Anna Kathryn Davis, and soon-to-arrive Colin Ellis Crowder; sister, Libby Ratliff and husband, Joe; nieces, Libby Jo Smith, Didi Haase, and Sloan Pye; beloved cat, Kelly; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A period of visitation will follow until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Kathys name may be sent to the Rebos Club at 4231 Garst Mill Road in Roanoke, VA 24018.
