Kathy Marie 'Red' Bordewisch

Kathy S. Red Bordewisch, age 62, of Salem, Va. passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018. She was born on Thursday, May 17, 1956 to the late Bruce E. and Selma L. Smith. Red was a loving wife, dedicated mother, devoted grandmother, caring daughter, and loyal sister. She had an unwavering work ethic and was a faithful employee of Richfield Health & Rehab in Salem for 32 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandmother, Versie B. Altizer; and brother, Samuel A. Smith. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 41 years, Clifford H. Bordewisch, III; sons Clifford H. Bordewisch, IV and wife, Kathryn F., and Joshua P. Bordewisch; she is Gnma to, Maelee Marie Bordewisch, Clifford Henry Bordewisch, V, and Madelyn Pierson Bordewisch; sister, Debra Duncan; aunt Millie Howell; Angela Shelor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members also survive. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. with Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 9 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
