Katherline Renee "Kathy" Small

Katherline Renee LaPradd Kathy Small, 61, of Vinton, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Roanoke, VA. She was born on Thursday, February 18, 1960, to Carol Jarrett LaPradd, and the late Paul Lawrence LaPradd, Jr. Kathy was everyones best friend, she never met a stranger, and anytime she was involved there was a guaranteed laugh to be had by someone. Upon graduating from college, Kathy worked in several different fields all over the Roanoke Valley. She married the love of her life, Roger, on March 21, 1998. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-three years, Roger Small; brother, Ricky LaPradd, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Ben and Dorothy Jarrett; paternal grandparents, Paul and Ruth LaPradd, Sr. Left to cherish her memory include her children, Roger Lee Small (Julie), Lisa Small (Michael), John Wayne Hutchison (Kassi), Chris Small (April), Roger Small, Jr. (Marie), Carol Hobbs (Travis), Steven Trail (Angela), Justin Hobbs (Stacey) and Nick Hutchison; 34 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul LaPradd, III, Lester LaPradd, and Randy LaPradd and his wife, Melissa; sisters, Fay Clark, and Mary King and her husband, Doug; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Matt King officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Roanoke. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the funeral home.
