Karen L. Dowdy Schmidt

Karen L. Dowdy Schmidt, 47, of Roanoke, passed away after a 20-year battle with MS on Monday, August 16, 2010. She was preceded in death by her son, Bradley A. Schmidt. Her surviving family includes her parents, Allan B. and Nancy L. Dowdy; son, Justin M. Schmidt; sister, Susan D. Parr and husband, Don; niece, Carlyn S. Parr; nephew, Brendan A. Parr; and devoted friend, Debbie Galbraith. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 12 Noon in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. The Rev.
