June Elizabeth (Marshall) Crew, 91, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Ray Crew of Pleasant Hill, North Carolina; a brother, Clyde Marshall; and a sister, Ardith Mabry. Survivors include four children, Linda Crew Ford (Ed) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Michael Crew (Myra) of Salem, Virginia, Larry Crew (Libby) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Gloria Crew of Richmond, Virginia; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Berlyn Tootie James; sister-in-law Delia Marshall Horton and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Cripple Creek, Virginia, and a long-time resident of Richmond, Virginia, she was a graduate of St. Lukes Training School for Nurses as a Registered Nurse and worked as a nurse at St Lukes Hospital in Richmond. She was an active member of the St. Lukes Nurses Alumni Association. She was a member of Ginter Park United Methodist Church for more than sixty years. For the past three years, she has resided at Richfield in Salem, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at Ginter Park United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia, on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. The family will greet friends following the service. A private inurnment service will take place in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Ginter Park United Methodist Church, 1010 W. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23227. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at The Oaks and Richfield Recovery and Care Center 4W in Salem, Virginia and Carilion Hospital and ER and Palliative Care departments for their loving services.
