Julian Howard Yeatman Jr. (Snookie), 90, of Salem, Virginia, departed this earth on February 23, 2023, to be reunited with the Lord, his beloved wife Janett Baker Yeatman, and their daughter Denise. He lived in Salem since 2003, after having lived in Virginia, Florida, and Georgia. He leaves behind his adoring family who will remember him for his kind, gentle spirit and, of course, his wonderful sense of humor and playful pranks. Howard was born in 1932 and was raised in Fork Union, Virginia to the late Dr. Julian Howard Yeatman and his wife Roberta. He met his beloved wife, Janett Marion Baker, and was instantly smitten. They wed in 1954 and were married for over 65 years. Howard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a medical technologist who worked in numerous hospitals throughout his rewarding career. Howard loved the Lord dearly and raised his family to do the same. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, and his family meant the world to him. We will never forget the life lessons and examples he set for us all. Howard is survived by his son Bud (Cindy) Yeatman, Moyock, NC, his daughter Jeri Yeatman Person, Salem, VA, and his daughter Amy (Tony) Brown, Cochran, GA, and his cherished grandchildren Michael, Stephen, and Scott Inks, Amanda (Josh) Ryan, Tyler (Bekah) Person, Adriene (Evan) Nobles, Corey Brown, and Katelyn Brown, his precious great-grandchildren Julian and Paige Person and Cash and Sienna Inks, his sister-in-law Sallie (Wyatt) Omohundro, his brother-in-law Charles Wallace, and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Yeatman who died in infancy, his sister Diane Bruce, and his always and forever love, Janett. The family will have a private celebration of life in Fork Union at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com. Service Details.
