After courageously battling pancreatic cancer, Judith Creasy Coffman, 72, of Salem, VA, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 20, 2015. She was a graduate of Cave Spring High School of Roanoke, VA, and pursued her passion for music at Hollins College and Roanoke College. She joyfully mentored and taught music to many youth for more than thirty years. Judy was a dedicated member, volunteer, and steward in the community and at First United Methodist Church for over fifty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Creasy of Roanoke, VA; in-laws, William and Cathleen Coffman; sister-in-law, Carol Steele; and brother-in-law, Gerald Coffman, all of Front Royal, VA. Surviving are her loving husband of fifty-three years, Scott W. Coffman; son, Michael Coffman of Roanoke, VA; daughters, Andrea Coffman of Staunton, VA, and Crista Coffman of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Travis Coffman, and father of great-grandson, Trevor Coffman, both of Roanoke, VA; aunt, Margaret Robertson of Salem, VA; three brothers, Harvey (Nancy) Creasy of Charleston, WV, David (Joan) Creasy of Charlotte, NC, and John (Jenny) Creasy of Marietta, GA; sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Vince) Williams and Roxy (Bob) Leonard, of Front Royal, VA; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of Judys life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Salem, VA, with Rev. Stephen G. Bray officiating. The family would like to thank her church family and many dear friends for all of the cards, meals, love, and support over this past year. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, and she will truly be missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends honor Judys life with memorial gifts to either First United Methodist Church at 125 West Main Street in Salem, VA 24153 or the American Cancer Society at 2840 Electric Road in Roanoke, VA 24018.
