Judith Mae Brown

Judith Mae Brown, 69 of Salem, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her home. She was born on June 9, 1942 to the late Adrian Heck and Ella Estelle LaPrad in Bedford, Va. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Heck, and Wayne Inky Heck. Family surviving to cherish her memory include three sons, Kevin Brown, Danny Rucker and wife Karen, and Harold L. Rucker, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Conner; brother, Junior Heck, and wife Virginia; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family wishes to offer special thanks to Connie Beheler for the care and devotion given to the friendship she had with their mother. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, Va.
