Joyce Montgomery Crouch

Joyce Montgomery Crouch, 70, of Salem, was reunited in heaven with her husband of 50 years on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. She was a longtime member of the former Berean Baptist Church. Joyce loved her 20+ years working as a receptionist with Dr. Rome Skip Walker and Dr. Paul Carmichael at Colonial Surgical Associates. She was a loving mother, grandma, and friend to many. Preceding her in death were her parents, Sherwood and Madeline Montgomery; husband, Carson Bud Crouch; and brother, Wayne T. Montgomery. Her surviving family includes her children, Bobby Crouch and wife, Margaret, Sandra Crouch Newman and husband, Jerry, Ronnie Crouch and wife, Jennifer, and Kelly Crouch Sutphin and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Haley Crouch, Megan Crouch, Carson Sutphin, Chandler Sutphin, Kirsten Crouch, and Ryan Crouch; and sister-in-law, Shirley Montgomery. She is also survived by longtime friends, Gwen Barber and Gloria Cundiff. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Gene Godwin for his lifelong friendship and medical guidance and to the Davenport family for the love and care shown to her over the past couple of years. A period of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, in the funeral homes chapel with Dr. Rudy Holland officiating.
