Josephine Epperly "Jody" Laprad

Joesphine Laprad known to her family & friends as Jody, age 84, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, on August 28, 2026.

Born on August 15, 1942, in Elliston, Virgina to Dennis Irvin Epperly and Mabel Epperly.

Jody retired from Medeco Security Locks after 28 years of service, where she met many lifelong friends. She was a 50-year Charter Member of Temple Baptist Church, very rarely missing a service, until her sickness prevented her from attending. She enjoyed taking yearly trips to Pennsylvania with her closest friends and spending countless hours with her family.

Above all else, she treasured her family. Affectionately known as "Granny", she was deeply loved and adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her immeasurable joy. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Laprad; her sisters, Alma Dehart and Mary Shepherd; brother, Bussey; and her great-grandson, Matthew Wyatt Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her; children, Linda Taylor (Ronnie) and Allen Laprad (Cristi); her grandchildren, Brandon Taylor (Brittany), Emily Duncan (Adam), Madeleine Hall (Derick), Claire Laprad, Mallory Laprad (Matt), and Miller Laprad; her great-grandchildren; Jenna, Maximus, Riley, Brody, Jaxon, Owen, Lainey, Maria, Luke, and Theo; special niece, Carla Garman; sister, Glenna Hall; brothers, J.C. Epperly (Trudy), Luin Epperly (Betty), Mickey Epperly (Pam), and E.J. Epperly; sisters-in-law; Carol Cook and Carol Laprad; brother-in-law; David Laprad (Rhonda); and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Syed Haider and his sweet staff, along with Good Samaritan Hospice for their guidance and kindness during the last months.
