Josephine Wells Barksdale

Josephine Wells Barksdale, 86, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alexander Barksdale; brother, Archie Wells; and sisters, Emma Jean Hilton and Virginia Ulrey. Her surviving family includes her sisters, Christine Harris and husband, Max, and Ruth Hubble; special nieces, Linda Buchanan and husband, Bill, and Leslie Hubble; and other nieces and nephews, Robert Harris, Kenny Harris, Ricky Harris, Randy Ulrey, Denny Ulrey, Larry Ulrey, Julie Ulrey Reed, Gary Wells, Bob Wells, Kenny Wells, and Caroline Wells. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 3 to 5 p.m. as well as on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Roanoke.
