Joseph Francis Gardocki

Joseph Francis Gardocki died Monday, Jan. 21, 2018, after a long illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, N.Y. He received his PhD from Georgetown University and worked for many years as a neuropsychopharmacologist. Prior to moving to Roanoke, Va., Dr. Gardocki lived with his wife, Anne, in Doylestown, where he was active in his church, and other community affairs. He loved music, art, and photography, and also enjoyed ham radio. Before moving to Doylestown, he was active in local politics in Maywood, N.J. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anne; his daughter, Anne; his stepdaughter, Susan; stepson, David (Rosie); and his granddaughter, Andrea (Owen). He was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters; and daughters, Teri and Katy. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
