Jori Cordell Cox

Jori Diane Cordell Cox, 54, of Salem, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Cordell; and brother, Michael Cordell. Jori was a dedicated, respected, and caring educator, serving the city of Salem for over 30 years. She was active in worship at Salem Baptist Church. She loved life, loved her family, and treasured her friends. Her infectious smile brought joy to all she knew. Family left to cherish her memory include her husband of 29 years, Michael Cox, (Salem); sons, Nathan (Roanoke), Brent (Salem), and Kevin (Salem); mother, Clara Cordell (Marion, NC); numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many very special friends who were an important part of her life. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 5 until 9 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
