John E. Jack Winston of Salem, VA, father of the luckiest girl alive, went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Jack was born in Radford, VA on Wednesday, December 3, 1941, to the late Ivan H. Jack and Dollie Gallagher Winston.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geraline Geri Croy Winston; daughter, Maurine Paige Winston; four-legged grandbabies, Chili and Wyatt; brothers Ivan H. Winston (JoAnn), Michael G. Winston (Lisa); brother-in-law George Croy; sisters-in-law Barbara Williams (Calvin), Carolyn Underwood (Donnie), Mary Meador; as well as several nieces, nephews and their children.
Jack began a successful career at Roanoke Restaurant Service and after many years he decided to switch gears and ventured into another industry with the Texas Steakhouse and Saloon Restaurants, both places where he met a lot of amazing people, many of whom became life-long friends.
The Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Andrews Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home located in Salem, VA on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 11:00 am to 3:00.
