John Clayton "Peewee" Walters

John C. "Peewee" Walters of Charlotte, NC passed away on July 12, 2023. John was born on April 8, 1972, to John W. and Mary Elizabeth Walters. John was known to be a very fun person to be around - his children were a source of great joy for him. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, particularly Harley Davidson, and would often attend motorcycle rallies. He also enjoyed camping and game nights around the back table with his family. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Clayton Lemon, and Ella J. Lemon; his uncles, Buddy Lemon, and Fred Walters; and his aunts, Patsy Radford, and Martha Pierce. In addition to his parents, John is survived by his daughters, Veronica Heffelfinger Walters, and Rochele Heffelfinger Walters; his siblings, AC Walters (Ashley), and Timothy Walters; uncle, James Manning; his nephews, BJ Hepner, and Nick Walters, Jackson Walters, and Brandon Moore; his nieces, Legend Walters, Ally Walters, Ava Walters, Tallen Walters, and Selena James, and Celest Garrett; great-niece, Yue Walters; and numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the Chapel of the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastors Eddie Crabtree and Terry Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. Friends may visit with the family from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the funeral home.
