John Randolph Paw Paw Palmer, 97, of Salem, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born on Monday, June 1, 1925, to the late Herman Palmer and Myrtle Dickerson. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. The last patriarch of East Bottom. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Ruby Kate Palmer; son, James Jimmy Palmer and surviving wife, Patricia Palmer. He is survived by son, David Palmer, wife, Karen, and daughter Martha Ellis; grandchildren, Tracy Burns, and husband, Eric, Michael Lewis, and wife, Dominque, Ryan Palmer, and wife, Beth, Candy Butcher, Christie Hudson, Joshua Lewis, and wife, Misty, Sarah Garst, and husband, Kevin; great grandchildren, Haley Palmer, Gabrielle Lewis, Hannah Butcher, Kayden Lewis, Kaylea Lewis, Lauren Garst, Preston Palmer, Samantha Burns, Kylie Palmer, Elizabeth Garst, Zach Subtyl, Logan Butcher, and Tyernee Lewis.
