John Gil Gilbert Moore, Jr. (Gizmo Art), 54, of Roanoke, VA passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012. He was born in Richmond, VA son of Geneva Engle Moore and the late John Gilbert Moore, Sr. Gil was the owner and proprietor of Framescapes and Gizmo Art in Roanoke and had a dream to enrich the Roanoke Valley through art. Gil hosted and promoted many local artists through his gallery, was a National Award Winning Artist and was recognized at shows all over the United States. His artwork was showcased at the University of South Carolina, Sumter Gallery. In the past Gil mentored students at the local elementary school. He contracted and framed artwork for several large corporations, including Carilion, Humana, as well as local universities. Gil is survived by his mother, Geneva Engle Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Major Roger Illari; and three nephews, Gianni, Brienno and Massimo Illari. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Friday, April 13, 2012 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the funeral home. John M.
