John William Goodhart Sr.

John W. Goodhart, Sr. 82 of Rocky Mount, Virginia passed away Saturday November 23, 2019. Mr. Goodhart was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke. He retired after many years of service with Verizon Communications. When he could, he enjoyed hiking in the great outdoors and taking in the scenery, Mr. Goodhart liked donating to charity and especially helping with his time and enjoyed peaceful times alone. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, John Jr. and Kathleen Goodhart of Salem; daughter, Karen Reese of Richmond; stepdaughter, Wendy Fitzgerald of Richmond; grandchildren, Karl Goodhart, Kaye Goodhart, Daniel Goodhart, and Michael Goodhart all of Salem; brother, Robert Goodhart. Along with a dear friend and neighbor Joe Arnold and other relatives and friends. Per family wishes services will be held at a later date and will be published then when finalized. Service Details.
