John Edward Ellers II, 45, of Roanoke, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 29, 2010. John is preceded in death by his parents, Everette C. Ellers and Anna Warden Ellers Davis; and a brother, E. Clayton Ellers, Jr. His surviving family includes his sisters, Debbie King and husband, David, and Suzanne Caldwell and husband, Tim; special sister, Caroline Carter; nieces, Courtney Ellers Padgett and husband, Rush; Lauren King, and Kaitlyn Fehlberg; nephews, J. Nicholas German, Austin Fehlberg, and Travis Carter; great-nephew, Rush Clayton Padgett; special cousins, Jonna Erber, Nancy Chittum and her son, Phillip, and Sue Snyder; special friend, Twana Robtison; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. John spent most of his life giving of himself and caring for others. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. The Lord hold him steady in the palm of His hand and shine His grace upon him eternally. A memorial service will be held on Monday evening, November 1, 2010 at 6 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Johns name to the American Heart Association at 4504 Starkey Road #115 in Roanoke, VA 24018.
