John Edward Jones

John Edward "Johnny" Jones, 68, of Salem, Virginia, left this world peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Born on December 7, 1955, to the late Tommy Jones and Doris Jones, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Don Jones.

Johnny had many friends and did not meet a stranger. A huge Lynard Skynyrd fan, he loved "Free Bird" especially and Salem Football. He doted on his nieces and nephews of two generations and they adored him just as much.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Rhonda Carr and husband Eric; niece, Jennifer Carr Amonett and Matt; nephew, Brandon Carr and wife, Olivia; great niece and nephew, Alice and Bruce; aunt, Peggy Stinson; cousins, Perry Skelton, Randy Stinson, as well as other extended family.

Per Johnny's wishes, there will only be a private family gathering on a date to be determined.
