John David Bland

John David Bland, 71, of Salem, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Bland; mother, Lillian Moore Bland; brother, James M. Bland; and sister, Nettie F. Wiggins. John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosetta Hammersley Bland; daughters, Lisa Bland and Sherry Brown and husband, Forrest; son, Kevin Lambert; grandson, Aaron Bland; brother, Paul Bland and wife, Judy; and numerous other family members. John enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years, and later, he spent his time reading, traveling, and spending quality time with his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, with an hour prior visitation.
