Joel Ashley Hilton, 59, of Salem, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was born to the late Raymond Hilton Jr. and Peggy Slaydon Hilton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Raymond E. and Mary W. Hilton Sr.; maternal grandparents, Charles N. Slaydon, and Evelyn H. Slaydon. Left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jaclyn Grey; siblings, Byron T Butch Hilton, Mark C. Hilton; grandchildren, Tyler Ireson, Camren Ireson, and Marle Cooper; sister-in-law, Kathy Webber, and Gloria Hilton; niece, Nicole Seeves; nephew, Justin Woo; as well as numerous cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA, with Pastor Milton Marks officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park located in Salem, VA. Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the funeral home.
