Jimmy A. Rogers, Cowboy Jimmy, 52, of Moneta, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012. Jimmy was born in Salem to the late Jessie Rogers and his mother Margaret Rogers. He was a life long resident of this area and was known by many as a down to earth great guy. Cowboy Jimmy loved to be on horseback and out in the country. He worked as a truck driver for Roach Trucking. He was a member of the Vinton Moose Lodge, and well known for singing karaoke with his signature song, Bandy the Rodeo Clown. Along with his mother, Jimmy is survived by his brothers, David and Vincent Rogers; girlfriend, Melinda Ashwell; step-daughter, Amy Jo and her husband, Daniel; his 3 grandchildren, Autumn, Angel, and Austin; special friends, Wesley and Loretta Roach, Timmy and Donna Roach, Sabrina and Brad Farmer, and Linda Roach. Along with a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2012 beginning at 9:00 am in the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor the life of Cowboy Jimmy will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park.
