Jimmiel Capps Johnston

Jimmiel Capps Johnston, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2010. She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband, Daniel; her daughter, Stephanie; her son, Scott; her sister, Jaretta and her husband, Len, as well as their two children, Caroline and Austin; and her niece, Emily. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna Capps; and her sister, Jeanna Capps Caldwell. Jimmiel was actively involved in her community, serving as a Girl Scout leader for many years. She was employed by the City of Salem Schools as a media clerk in the Andrew Lewis Middle School library. Her life deeply touched so many and she will be greatly missed. The family will receive visitors at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral homes chapel on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Andrew Lewis Middle School Library at 616 South College Avenue in Salem, Virginia 24153.
