Jimmie Dean 'Buck' Fielder

Jimmie Buck Fielder, 79, of Salem, VA passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Price Fielder; daughters, Juliana Fielder Alexander, Angela Fielder Boitnott and husband, Richard, Sherry Fielder Lindamood and husband, Edward; son, Jimmie Dean Fielder, II; grandchildren, Bradley Fielder, Adam Boswell, Caitlin Alexander, Daniel, Jacob and Noah Lindamood; and brothers, Stanley Fielder and wife, Carol and Gary Fielder. Buck was well known in the community. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and served his country in Korea. He will always be remembered for his love of baseball, as he spent years playing and umpiring and was a member of the Salem-Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame. Memorial services will be conducted at 3 pm Sunday, July 14, 2013 at John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem with Pastor Gary Butcher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice and the Staff at Richfield Nursing Home for their loving care of Buck. John M.
