Jesse Allen Whitfield, 33, of Roanoke, went to be with his brothers in arms on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie (Tootie) and Wilma (Lady) Willis Terry, and Dorothy Whitfield; and parents, Allen Pope Whitfield, Jr. and Trudy Yvonne Terry.
Jesse was a veteran, having served in Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division from 2003 to 2004. Later, he went back to serve his country as a civilian contractor. Jesse was also a very skilled mechanic.
Family left to cherish his memory include his sister, Allison Hope Whitfield Davidson and her husband, Michael; nieces and nephews, Casey Cox, Kaylee Cox, and Christian Davidson; and his beloved dog, Abby.
A Graveside Service and Military Honors will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA, with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. The family requests no flowers be sent, but that donations be made in Jesses name to any veterans organization.
