Jerry Leon 'J.R.' Robertson

Jerry Leon Robertson, 76, of Salem, affectionately known as J.R. peacefully died on Saturday, August 2, 2014. He was born May 16, 1938 in Roanoke, a son of the late Walter Leon Robertson and Hazel Blake Robertson and had been a Salem area resident most of his life. Jerry was a US Air Force veteran and retired from Nabisco. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Earl Thomas Musselman and Helen Mabes Musselman, and a brother-in-law, Sandy Hertz. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Grammer Robertson; his sister, Joy R. Hertz of Goodyear, AZ; two nieces, Jenifer H. Jester and husband Jason, and Stefanie Hertz, both of PA; brother-in-law Paul W. Musselman and wife Betty Jean of Bristol, TN; four great-nieces, Sela, Megan, Abby and Lily; longtime and close friends, Jerry and Loretta Mills of Franklin County; his longtime school days friend Betty Bane Hedge; friends and neighbors, Mark Critzer, Joe Cunningham and a most important young man that he thought of as a grandson, Derek Critzer. We know that you are happily reunited with your parents and loyal pets, Dusty, Buck and Cricket, excitedly dancing all around you. Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
