Jerry W. Bailey Sr.

Jerry W. Bailey, Sr., 65, of Salem, VA passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010. He was born May 23, 1945 in Salem, VA son of the late A. H. and Cardella Neighbors Bailey. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Charie, Shelvie and Elsie; and a brother, Bud Bailey. Mr. Bailey was the founder and owner of Salem Hydraulics, a member of Roanoke Rifle Range and loved to fish, hunt and shooting sports. He is survived by his loving wife, Janie Booth Bailey; son, Jerry W. Bailey, Jr. and wife, Amy; daughter, Angela Ewing and husband, Kevin; step-sons, Larry Wills and wife, Melissa and Bobby Wills and wife, Rose; grandchildren, Joshua Harris, Caitlin Bailey, Matthew Ewing, Jonathan Wills and Ashley Wills; brother-in-law, Junior Hudson of Arizona; sister-in-law, Barbara Gaddy; special furry companion, Bear Baby; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Sherwood Memorial Park with Rev. Ben Mewald officiating.
