Jeffrey Stewart Young

Jeffrey S. Young, 49, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 17, 2013. He was born in Roanoke, a son of Carl Young and Judy Thompson Young and had been an area resident all of his life. He was a self-employed graphic artist, specializing in screen-printing and monogramming. Jeff enjoyed riding motorcycles and golf, and was a member of Salem Moose Lodge # 2573 and a long time member of the Penguin Club in Salem. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Andrew Young. He is survived by his loving wife, Missy Young; his mother Judy Young; father Carl Young and step-mother Liz; a brother, Kevin Young; mother-in-law, Marcy Galitsky; brother-in-law, Jason Galitsky and his wife Pam; two nephews, Josh Young and Carter Galitsky; a special cousin, Jim Martin; his loving dog Chopper, as well as numerous other cousins and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Jeffs life will be held at 11AM, Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
