Jeffrey C. Eaton

Jeffrey Craig Eaton, 57, of Salem, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013. Jeff was born in Roseburg Oregon, a son of the late Millard Eaton. In addition to his father, Jeff is preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Eaton. The family moved to the Salem area when Jeff was seven and he spent the rest of his life as a Salem resident. Jeff was known as a good dancer. He enjoyed line dancing and two stepping, and playing horseshoes. He worked 38 years for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a train conductor, but the things Jeff loved the most were his grandchildren. Left behind to cherish his memories are his mother, Nancy Eaton; his loving wife, Marilyn Eaton; his five sons, Christopher Eaton and wife, Teresa, Craig Eaton, Matthew Eaton and wife, Michelle, Christopher Megredy and wife, Alicia, and Shawn Megredy and wife, Brandee; one sister, Karen McIntyre and husband, Doug; 10 grandchildren; along with a host of other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18 2013, from 5-8 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home and Crematory, Salem, and a funeral service to honor the life of Jeffrey Craig Eaton will take place on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11 am in the funeral homes chapel with Pastor Carey Harrell officiating.
