Janis Irene Soja

Janis (Jan) Irene Soja, 83, of Lynchburg, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2021. Jan was the oldest sister of five children, and spent her adult years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Preceding her in death were her parents, Constant and Elaine Martin; husband, John Michael Soja; sister and her husband, Cynthia and Michael Boyle; a second brother-in-law, Thomas Manning; and her special cat, Alice. Her surviving family includes her children, Allison Schmitt and husband, Mark; sisters, Anne Shuppy and husband, Peter, Pamela Manning, and Theresa McNulty and husband, James; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Schmitt, Alexandra Schmitt, and David Schmitt. Janis will be laid to rest beside her husband at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia.
