Janet Ennis Kirk

Janet E, Kirk, 82, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017. She was born in Smyth County, a daughter of the late John and Graydon Parkes Testerman and had been an area resident for over 60 years. She was employed at Catawba Hospital and retired following 29 fulfilling years in nursing services. Janet was a member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird watching. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Kirk, Sr., and their daughter, Janet E. Lee. She is survived by a son, Ralph Kirk, Jr. and wife Shirl; grandchildren, Kari Whittaker, Seth Kirk, Jessica Buchanan and Jennifer Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Mykah Davis, Tiffani Greene, Alan Joynes, Caleb Landsdown, Gabrielle Hicks and Gracie Buchanan, and a great-great granddaughter, Luna Guthrie. The family would like to take this opportunity to express sincere appreciation to Amedisys Hospice, for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Pastor Ben Lockhart will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 3PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at West Cemetery in South Fork with Rev.
