James W. Hall, 62, of Salem, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013. He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late Horace Vance Hall and Barbara Hall Spence of Salem, and had been a life long area resident.
In addition to his father, his brother, Darrell Hall, preceded him in death.
James was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He worked as a security officer, was a member of the N.R.A., and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Teresa Stanton and her husband, Lee; a sister, Linda Hall; stepfather, Charles Spence; granddaughter, Darien Stanton; and a special aunt, Maxine Caldwell.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Piedmont Cemetery in Shawsville, VA.
