James Richard Dishner

James R. Dishner, age 77, of Salem, Va. went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born on Thursday, July 18, 1940 to the late James C. and Lucy Dishner. James was an avid hunter and fisherman, and had a knack for gardening. He was married to the love of his life, Thelma Hall Dishner for 55 years. He was a long time member of Fort Lewis Baptist Church in Salem, Va. James loved people, he never met a stranger and was a well-loved neighbor, and friend. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Jim Dishner and Jennifer Dishner; brother, David Dishner; sister, Dianna Tibbs and husband, Philip; grandchildren, Tyler and Evan Dishner. A funeral service to celebrate Jamess life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Leonard Southern officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery in Snowville, Va.
