James Clifford Carter Jr.

James Clifford Carter Jr., 83, of Salem, Va., and formerly of Pulaski, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Jimmy was a proud veteran having served in the US Navy. He was a truck driver for many years and was also a part of the John M. Oakey & Son staff family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James Clifford Sr and Esther Ruth Stoots Carter; in-laws, Herman and Margaret Wise; and children, Anthony Carter, Michelle Carter, and Sean Carter.
His surviving family includes his wife, Sharon Wise Carter; daughter, Tisa Carter; and many other family members.
The family extends appreciation to Blue Ridge Therapy Connections and Mountain Valley Hospice for their loving care.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be conducted on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. and service at 4 p.m.
