James Lloyd Breedlove

James Lloyd Breedlove, of Salem, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army, and most recently as supervisor with the Virginia Taxation Department. He was a longtime active member of Central United Methodist Church in Salem, and loved hunting. Preceding him in death was his father, Harold J. Breedlove. His surviving family includes his mother, Blanche Breedlove; wife of 46 years, Lynda Breedlove; daughters, Melissa Breedlove Wills and husband, Jeffrey, and Jill Breedlove Maggi and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Jennifer Wills, Katlyn Maggi, and Cole Maggi; and brother, William Breedlove and wife, Ruby. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem with Pastor Kristin Holbrook officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions be made to Central United Methodist Church at 428 South College Avenue in Salem, Virginia 24153.
