Jacquelin Carol "Jackie" Turman, of Salem, Va., went to be with her heavenly family on Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was 79 years old.
Jackie was born in Roanoke, Va., to the late Fred A. and Clara Redden Jordan on Monday, April 29, 1946. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her siblings, Fred Jordan, Jr., Joann Robertson, Ronald Jordan, and Shirley Beamer.
Jackie lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and unconditional love. She and her husband, Darius, were married for 40 years. Jackie worked as an insurance agent for over 30 years, demonstrating her hard work and dedication. There was a special place in her heart for the beach, where she loved to relax and enjoy the scenic views. As a preacher's daughter, she was a woman of faith and was truly a light to those around her. She dedicated her time and talents to singing in the church choir, further displaying her faith and love for her community. Jackie loved her grandkids and great-grandkids, and they adored her as well. She loved to tell stories and creating memories her family and friends will cherish forever. She loved animals, especially going to see baby goats with her husband after their Hardee's runs, and she also loved to watch Scooby-Doo with her beloved dog, Cocoa. Jackie was the source of many cherished memories, and she will be dearly missed, especially by her loving family.
Left to treasure Jackie's memory are her loving husband of 40 years, Darius Turman; children, Thomas C. Beheler, Jr. (wife Amanda) and Clara P. Beheler; grandchildren, Jordan Brown (wife Ashley), Michael Brown (wife Abby), Emily Sheppard (husband Alex), Anthony Beheler, Jack Beheler, and Hudson Beheler; and great-grandchildren, Reagan Brown, Evelyn Brown, Scarlett Brown, and Murphy Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at First Christian Church, 712 Front Ave., Salem, with Rev. Dan Netting officiating. Friends are welcome for a period of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be held privately in Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, Va.
