Jackie Arnold Fitzgerald

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, Jackie Fitzgerald, 87, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born on March 22, 1931, in Switchback, WVa. to the late Joe and Mary Gray Arnold. She worked in the banking field for many years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Arnold; and brother-in-law, Harry Fleming; sister-in-law, Joann Pruitt. Jackie will be forever remembered by her husband of 46 years, Dean Fitzgerald; son, Mark Fitzgerald (Katrina Cokendolpher); daughter, Linda Maddox (Jyll Maddox); sister, Joyce Fleming; granddaughter, Kasey Fitzgerald; nephew, Dan David (Rita David), sisters-in-law, Ann McAlpin Arnold, and Betty Lovelace (Ralph Lovelace); brother-in-law, JR Fitzgerald (Charline Fitzgerald); and a host of other relatives along with her friends of the MTB Retired Womens Bankers Group. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Lewis-Gale Hospital and Care Center for their compassionate care. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a favorite charity.
