Jack L. Beason, 73, of Roanoke County, died Monday, May 14, 2012. Jack was the beloved son of the late Forest M. Beason and Audrey Manning Bea Beason. Jack is survived by his wife, Diane W. Beason; son, Tim Beason (Elizabeth); daughters, TJ Beason Myers (Russ), and Cammi Beason; grandson, Forest Germano Beason; brother Carl W. Beason (Faye); sister, Wanda Beason Webb (Ron); aunt, Aileen Layne; uncles, Tom F. Beason and William J. Beason, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and his constant companions Amigo, YoYo, Patch, and Noodles. Jack was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. He was an outstanding athlete at Andrew Lewis High School and the University of South Carolina. He was blessed with many talents. He was a farmer, a natural artist, mechanic, teacher, coach, and could play any instrument by ear. He helped design and build the family dream home on the farm. His sense of humor was legendary and known by many. He was a very honorable, humble, and kind man who was always generous with his time and his talents. He served the people of Virginia for many years through his work at the Virginia Employment Commission. He retired in 1995 as manager of the Radford, VA VEC office. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, SW Suite 115, Roanoke, VA 24018 or an animal shelter of your choice.
