Jack Curtis Barnes, 77, of Elliston, passed away on Thursday May 22, 2014. Jack was born a son to the late Henry and Dorothea Barnes in Canton PA. Along with his parents Jack was preceded in death by four siblings. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, he made his living as a carpenter, a trade he learned in the Marine Corps, he enjoyed deer hunting, bowling and playing golf. He was known for grilling delicious BBQ ribs, he was a wonderful loving caring husband, father and grandfather. Left behind to cherish his memories are, his loving wife Priscilla; sons, Jimmy Barnes, Ray Barnes, Patrick Barnes, Eddie Mochrie, Jimmy Lindblad and Stanley Lattimer; daughters Evelyn Phenes, Yvonne Lindblad and Yolanda Montgomery; brothers Clark Barnes and John Barnes; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A celebration to honor the life of Jack Curtis Barnes will take place on Sunday June 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home and Crematory, Salem.
