Iva Worrell Liptrap

Iva Worrell Liptrap, 77, of Salem, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010. She was a member of North Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Roanoke. Preceding her in death were her parents, Matt and Daisy Worrell; husband, Robert Liptrap; and siblings, Bonnie Worrell and Claymander Worrell. Her surviving family includes her children, Richard Brown and wife, Joyce, Phillip Brown, and Eileen Nichols; siblings, Darkas Mason, Bob Worrell, Lowell Worrell and wife, Mary, Ray Worrell and wife, Margaret, Wayne Worrell and wife, Lillian, Juanita Knott, Skeeter Worrell and wife, Brenda, Joe Worrell and wife, Patricia, Opal Underwood, and Estelee Gray and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Charles Nichols and friend, Vanessa Ellis, Ashley Brown, Travis Brown, Corey Brown, and Chelsea Brown; stepgrandchildren, Jessica Dorsey and Aaron Hinnant; great-grandchildren, Gage Nichols, Joseph Nichols, Baby Madlynn Nichols, Madison Brown, and John Jenkins III; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at the Joseph C. Thomas Center as well as the 3 West nursing staff at Richfield Recovery and Care Center. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. A procession will leave the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.
