Itlean Hinds Gray Itlean Hinds Gray, 91, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014. She was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Oliver James Hinds and Georgia Hines Hinds and had been an area resident most of her life. She retired from Verizon following many years of service and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Noah David Gray, who died in 2012. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Ruby Gray and Sadie Hinds, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Oaks Assisted Living at Richfield for the love, care and support that they have given to Itlean during the last two years. In keeping with Itleans wishes, there will be no vsitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Ivey Adams will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Bethel Baptist Church, 1601 South Colorado St. Salem, VA 24153.
